Terms & Conditions

These terms explain the rules for using our website, enrolling in lessons and workshops, and purchasing books from Learning Out of the Box Education Centre Pte Ltd (“LOB”). Please read the terms relevant to your purchase before enrolling or placing an order. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information collected through the website.

1. Definitions and which terms apply

1.1. “We”, “us” and “our” refer to Learning Out of the Box Education Centre Pte Ltd, including its employees and coaches acting on its behalf.

1.2. “Coach” means a teacher engaged by LOB. “Student” means the child or person attending a lesson or workshop. “Parent” includes a parent or guardian. “You” means the purchaser, parent or student, as applicable.

1.3. “Programme” means an LOB class, course or workshop. “Course fees” are charges for attending a programme. “Material fees” are separately stated charges for books, worksheets or other learning materials. A refundable deposit is separate from course and material fees.

1.4. “Course materials” include books, worksheets, documents, recordings and other learning resources supplied by LOB. “Course methodologies” include the teaching methods, techniques, processes and strategies taught by LOB.

1.5. General terms apply alongside the terms for your particular programme or book purchase. Where a programme-specific condition differs from a general condition, the programme-specific condition disclosed before enrolment applies to that programme, subject to applicable law. Regular-lesson make-up arrangements do not apply to PRC or CPS unless expressly stated.

2. Fees, payments and deposits

2.1. Course fees must be paid before the programme commences. Please check the fees, payment schedule and inclusions shown for your selected programme before enrolling.

2.2. Course and material fees are non-refundable for change of mind, withdrawal or missed lessons, subject to applicable law. The specific absence and transfer rules for PRC and CPS are set out in Section 4.

2.3. Material fees, where separately stated, are payable in addition to course fees. Material purchases are subject to Section 5 where relevant.

2.4. Prices, package options, promotions and discounts are determined by LOB. Any adjustment to course fees will be communicated at least one month in advance.

2.5. For regular lessons, the published FAQ states that a refundable deposit of S$100 is invoiced when a student continues after the four paid trial lessons. This deposit is not a non-refundable course or material fee. Please confirm the applicable deposit-return conditions with our team before enrolment.

2.6. For book orders paid by PayNow, use your order number as the payment reference and email your payment screenshot to lobfees@gmail.com. Books are dispatched after payment is confirmed. For lesson payments, follow the reference and instructions on your invoice or payment instructions.

3. Regular lessons

3.1. Trial fees cover four paid lessons. If your child continues with regular lessons, we invoice the remaining lessons in the term and the applicable refundable deposit. Current fees are published in our lesson FAQs.

3.2. Regular-lesson fees are term-based and are not pro-rated for absence.

3.3. Each student is entitled to up to two make-up lessons per term. Contact our lessons team at +65 8503 7519 with the date of the missed lesson so we can assist with arrangements. Available arrangements depend on the class schedule.

3.4. If a student misses the arranged make-up lesson, no further replacement is provided.

3.5. Our lessons follow the LOB curriculum. They do not include completing school homework or answering questions from external worksheets or assessment books during or after class unless expressly agreed.

4. PRC and CPS courses and workshops

4.1. Please confirm your child’s commitments, course dates and attendance before enrolling in the PSLE Readiness Course (PRC) or CPS holiday workshops. Read the terms shown on the relevant course page before registering.

4.2. Payment is for the selected course. It cannot be transferred to another LOB course, date, attendee, book, learning material or online membership. Fees are non-refundable for change of mind, withdrawal or missed sessions, subject to applicable law.

4.3. Missed sessions do not qualify for refunds, payment offsets or make-up lessons. The two-make-up-lessons arrangement for regular classes does not apply to these programmes.

4.4. PRC students are expected to watch the available video replay of a missed lesson. PRC does not provide separate solution copies in any format. Coach support is limited to live teaching and written feedback on the provided worksheets; it does not include support for external school or assessment-book materials.

4.5. The CPS page states that workshop documents, worksheets, answers and support will not be provided for missed workshops or lessons. Do not assume that PRC replay arrangements also apply to CPS.

4.6. The CPS online course has no stated class-size limit. For PRC, LOB reserves the right to convert physical lessons or workshops to online delivery if necessary, as stated in its course terms.

4.7. The additional conditions, inclusions and administrative contact details disclosed on the relevant course page apply to that programme.

5. Book orders, delivery and problems with an order

5.1. Check the book title, quantity, shipping address, contact number and email address before ordering. Incorrect or incomplete details may delay delivery.

5.2. Once an order has been placed and payment completed, we do not accept change-of-mind amendments, cancellations, refunds or exchanges. We cannot combine orders placed through different websites or platforms.

5.3. Delivery charges are shown at checkout. Processing and delivery information is available in our book orders and delivery FAQs.

5.4. If you receive the wrong book or a defective item, contact book@learningoutofthebox.org or WhatsApp +65 8883 1682. Include your order number, name, email address and photographs showing the item and the issue so our team can investigate and assist.

5.5. The change-of-mind policy does not exclude remedies available under applicable consumer law for defective or incorrectly supplied goods. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

6. Learning materials and intellectual property

6.1. LOB retains its intellectual property rights in its original course materials and methodologies. Purchasing or receiving materials does not transfer ownership of those rights.

6.2. Use the materials for the enrolled student’s or purchaser’s child’s learning. Parents, guardians and caregivers supporting that child may help them use the supplied materials. This does not permit commercial reuse, publication, resale, distribution or sharing with other households.

6.3. Do not reproduce, photograph, misappropriate, sell, distribute or publicly share LOB materials without written permission, except where permitted by applicable law. Do not use the materials in a way that infringes LOB’s intellectual property rights.

6.4. Do not make photographs, audio recordings or video recordings during lessons, workshops or parents’ debrief sessions without permission. Access to an LOB-provided replay does not authorise copying or redistribution.

6.5. Notify us promptly if you become aware of actual, threatened or suspected infringement of the rights described in this Section 6.

6.6. A breach of these intellectual property conditions may result in termination of access or enrolment. Any consequences for fees remain subject to applicable law.

7. Personal information and optional publicity

7.1. We collect personal information reasonably required to administer your purchase or enrolment, such as parent and student names, contact details, delivery addresses, school information where relevant, and academic results needed to support the student.

7.2. NRIC numbers or copies are not routine registration information. Any request for them must be supported by a lawful requirement or a need to verify identity to the degree required by applicable data-protection rules; the purpose will be explained.

7.3. Relevant information may be used to administer classes, payments, schedules and renewals; provide learning feedback and parent support; respond to enquiries and complaints; improve our services; conduct relevant research or surveys; and comply with applicable legal obligations.

7.4. Testimonials and identifiable student photographs for publicity are optional and are separate from information needed to provide lessons or fulfil orders. We will seek appropriate permission for their marketing use. You may contact us to withdraw that permission.

7.5. Marketing communications are separate from necessary order and lesson administration. You may opt out of marketing by using the unsubscribe option where provided or contacting us.

7.6. Read our Privacy Policy for further information. Direct personal-data questions, consent withdrawals and notifications to admin@learningoutofthebox.org.

8. Website use and applicable law

8.1. Website information may be updated. Please check the details relevant to your selected product or programme before purchasing.

8.2. To the extent permitted by law, we do not warrant the accuracy, timeliness, completeness or suitability of general website information. Please contact us if you find an error or need to confirm a detail.

8.3. You are responsible for checking whether a product or programme meets your requirements. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8.4. Website content, including its design, text, graphics and learning materials, is owned by or licensed to LOB unless otherwise stated. Third-party trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

8.5. Unauthorised website use or reproduction may give rise to legal liability. Links to external websites are provided for convenience; they do not imply endorsement, and we are not responsible for those websites’ content.

8.6. These terms and disputes concerning this website are governed by the laws of Singapore. Updates to website terms do not override rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
